We celebrate New Year’s Eve every year at Australia’s most famous beach, Bondi Beach.

Bondi Pavilion was opened in 1929 as a bathers pavilion. In the 1970’s the Pavilion became a community cultural centre which it remains to this day. The famous Bondi Icebergs pool is also over 100 years old and a key landmark on the beach.

Shore Thing and Waverley Council acknowledges the first people, the Gadigal clan within the wider Dharug language group of the “Eora Nation”. Bondi is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning the sound of breaking waves. There are Aboriginal rock carvings on the northern end of the beach at Ben Buckler and south of Bondi Beach near McKenzies Beach on the coastal walk.Bond

Please respect the culture and heritage of our beautiful venue when you celebrate New Year’s Eve at Shore Thing.
